Felices Pascuas!!

Me he propuesto el subir fotos frecuentes de algunos de los trabajos que hace Nick, así que aun cuando la fecha ya paso quiero llevar un recuento de algunas de las actividades con las que nos hemos divertido durante este tiempo!!

Este año la decoración de los huevitos de pascua fue mucho mas sencilla, pero me gusto, primero los pintamos todos con plumones acuacolor y después con un pincel y agua le hicimos un efecto estilo acuarela ;) Casi todos son BLUE por que es el color favorito de Nicolás!! El trío de huevitos guapos los decoro mi princesa!!! Cada día dibuja mejor y mejor…. son mi par de artistas!! los amoooooo!! :)

Spring is here!!!

¡Este es nuestro primer lapbook! ¡Fue súper divertido ver la cara de orgullo de mi ! Es increíble lo dedicado que es cuando algo le llama la atención, dedicamos el 21 y 22 de Marzo a este trabajo.

¡Libros Nuevos! :)

Estos son nuestros libros para este año!!! Estamos felices y pasándola padrísimo compartiendo juntos y leyendo estas divertidas historias.
El año pasado usamos el programa de Pre Kinder de Calvert, y aun cuando es un excelente programa y esta lleno de actividades manuales, sentía como que algo nos faltaba, ya que el libro de historias, al igual que el de poemas eran hojas interminables de texto salpicadas con pequeñas imágenes en blanco y negro. Esto para un niño pequeño cuya lengua materna no es el Inglés es súper aburrido.
Así que este año decidí arriesgarme y hacer un cambio radical en nuestra currícula, lo cual me tiene más que feliz al ver el resultado que esta teniendo en mi hijo!!
Tenemos básicamente 3 libros de trabajo 1 de matemáticas de horizons, luego otros 4 cuadernillos en los cuales se trabajan básicamente ejercicios de percepción y por ultimo el libro de los garabatos con el que trabajamos psicomotricidad fina, así como impulsar la creatividad y las aptitudes artísticas.
En matemáticas quise incluir también el programa de Mathacular! el cual es súper divertido, lleno de material y hace que de una forma divertida y sin presiones se pueda llevar jugando las matemáticas de lo abstracto a lo concreto, con muchos manipulables y un DVD en el cual los conceptos de explican de una manera súper amena y sencilla.
Por ultimo, Ciencias Naturales, Ciencias Sociales, Phonics, Language Arts y lo demás que se me vaya ocurriendo se cubre perfectamente bien con los contenidos de los libros de lectura. Es impactante como un buen libro atrapa a los niños aun cuando sean pequeños.
Ahora mi próxima meta es comenzar con algunos experimentos sencillos adecuados para la edad de mi enanito, ya que cada vez que tiene oportunidad corre al botiquín de baño y comienza a revolver todas las cosas, así que un programa sencillo con experimentos creo que lo ayudaría a aprender cuando hacemos experimentos y cuando no.

Learning GREEK!!

Things had been upside down round here as usual lol... i always feel like when we resolve this little trouble right in front of us the things will be normal for once in our family routine... but no mater how many troubles we solve there are always new ones coming right in front of us lol.. i am not complaining about our life at all.... i feel completely grateful and blessed for my family and my life just as it is now... the thing that i am complaining about is my lack of ability to deal with the flow of life in general.. with the ups and downs...
G has not been in the best mode of the universe lately and me neither i guess the work issues has him like that... i hope this gets better when they get solved... here i go again waiting for the things to get in "normal" mode.... Lil princess as usual so beautiful and lovely, sweet & sour like a good teenager, drawing and drawing!! she has been worried about school but she is just a princess and she is doing it great as always.. such a responsible girl.. i feel amazed and blessed to have such a girl... Nick has express a huge interest in learning Greek... i know it sounds weird, but we are starting to get use to the exceptional things that happen while you home school a 3 years old monkey.. sometimes i have mixed emotions... in one side i feel so happy and proud and at the same time i feel worried thinking that maybe i am not going to be able to keep his speed... just pray God to give me guidance, love and lots of patience to fulfil the teacher roll.. yesterday i also discovered that he is able to read some words.. i think is kind of photographic memory more than a real reading thing.. but anyway it is amazing... This are the most awesome kids in the entire universe.. and they have a crazy mom lol!! Yesterday i was trying to change from windows to ubuntu... but the wireless is giving me so much troubles... i love to learn new things each day... I know i am not able to teach my kids about all the topics they need or want.. but what i want to teach them is that sparkle that push me to try to learn about every single thing that cross in my path lol!! such a curious soul since i can remember.....
this has been longer than i expected....
